Who is a Young Carer? The words 'Young Carer' can mean a lot of different things to a lot of different people. At Raw Energy, we are talking about young people between the ages of 5 and 25 that are supporting a family member with a disability, chronic illness or mental illness.
It doesn't always mean that the young person needs to be: doing all the house work, managing all the money, doing all the dishes etc......
It just means that they don't grow up quite the same as other young people because they are affected by the circumstances in their family. But this doesn't need to be a bad thing. It just means that young people need to be supported because it is not always easy. Raw Energy is here to provide support to young people so that they can get the maximum enjoyment out of life. After all, isn't that what it's all about.........
